Wedding Wednesday: To Wrap or Not To Wrap?
To wrap or not to wrap… that is the question! Wedding (or bridal) wraps are becoming more and more popular in today’s wedding fashion scene. Some brides think of wraps as an outdated piece of garment that adds nothing but an old-fashioned look. And honestly, I don’t blame them – since wraps were worn by women way back in the days. But! That being said, the wrap style continues to offer a timeless elegance with a modern twist for most formal wear nowadays.
Though bridal wraps are not meant for every gown, it can truly increment a gorgeous accent when coordinated with the right dress. With spring here, it’s the perfect season to show off this beautiful piece. Wraps are not only here to give us that little extra warmth, but also to help cover your arms or shoulders in case you like that style. This versatile fashion item can surely bring out a boost of confidence for many women!
Some of you might think it’s a bit troublesome to wear a wrap. Well… it is not! Designers have become very creative with their designs in order to make our life easier. The modern styles are nothing like the traditional wraps; they are much more stylish and easy to wear. The majority of the wraps have a blouse-like design which permits to move around freely, giving you the comfort you need on your wedding day.
Wedding wraps come in an array of fabrics including lace, satin, faux fur, chiffon, taffeta and organza. LightInTheBox.com Wedding Collection has a wide selection of Bridal Wraps. In this post I’ll introduce some of the different fabrics and wraps we offer.
Lace Wrap
Lace is a very romantic fabric and there’s no other better occasion to wear it than on your special day. The delicate lace pattern makes the wrap a unique and coquettish accessory piece. Lace is always a top fabric choice for any wedding event so you can wear it whenever or wherever you’d like!
Satin Wrap
This smooth and silky fabric adds a touch of royalty when worn with the perfect gown.
Satin wrap comes in a variety of different designs and everyone who has worn satin before, knows it feels as smooth as rose petals on your skin!
Chiffon Wrap
The Chiffon wrap brings out a soft and delicate elegance. This sheer type texture is one of the most widely used fabrics when it comes to accessorizing a formal dress. Its simplicity allows it to be flexible and easy to pair with almost any gown.
Faux Fur
What a luxury! Personally, I am not a fan of fur – faux or not, but some women know how to work this fabric! If fur is what you want, walk down the aisle looking like a million dollar bride.
Tip: ideally, winter would be the best season to rock the fur style!
The fabric of your bridal wrap does not necessarily need to be restricted to the same fabric type as your wedding gown. There are plenty of options out there, so mix it up and play around with various pieces until you find one that would make the perfect ensemble with your gown.
Happy Shopping!

Most of these are not wraps, but rather boleros. The only wraps shown here are in the faux fur pictures.
