LITB Labs – Telescope 6X Zoom Camera + Case Holder for iPhone 4 / 4S

For this week’s LITB Lab we are going to take a peek at the ingenious Telescope 6x Zoom Camera and Case for iPhone 4/4S. This is a product that has me, as a budding photographer myself, enraptured. Camera technology on phones has become increasingly sophisticated over these past few years, with a noted increase in mega pixels and colour management. Indeed, one may even be bold enough to claim that recently the quality of pictures produced by certain camera phones is not a far cry from that of a true camera. However, what must be conceded is that the compact nature of a phone camera lens sacrifices both a decent zoom, and the ability to filter light in the same way as a true camera.

The rather impressive looking Telescope 6x Zoom Camera and Case is an end to the woes of phone camera inferiority. Its powerful 18mm lens is capable of producing a 6x zoom without the blurriness the inbuilt zoom of the iPhone produces on long shots. Its manual focus function allows you the freedom to physically control your shots, giving you an increased role in the outcome of your photography. It also provides the ability to take wide angle shots with good colour reduction; great for capturing that perfect sunset moment!

The Telescope Camera Zoom can be taken apart for ease of carrying, and reassembled when needed.

For those of you who look at this product and worry about its potential impracticality, fear not! The lens and case are detachable, making carrying it around less hassle than having to carry both a phone AND camera around with you wherever you go. Even though the weather is warming up and spring is here full force, you don’t have to resort to tank tops and short shorts just yet! You can transition easily from season to season with this new trend—long sleeves! Here you’ll see some hot fashions with sexy sleeves that are sure to make you look cool!

This is a trend we’ve been seeing on celebrities everywhere, from the red carpet to everyday life! Welcome to the final installation of our Wedding Gown Tips report! Over the past few weeks you’ve seen lots of different wedding gown options for all different body types, and this week is no different! Here you’ll see some fab gowns for tall, petite and full figured ladies.

There are a lot of factors you should consider when shopping for that perfect wedding gown. Price, current bridal trends, your personal style and the season of your wedding are all things you should be thinking about! But one of the most important factors to consider is your body type. Picking a dress that flatters your unique silhouette is the best way to guarantee that you will look amazing on your wedding day.

Full Figured

If you’ve got it, flaunt it! Just avoid anything too clingy or too loose, they can both add pounds! These style dresses will show off your womanly curves and be flattering at the same time:

V-necks, scoop necks, sweetheart necklines, ball gowns, empire with a high waist (just under your bust line)

Tall

You should find a gown that accentuates your statuesque height! Make sure you pick a dress with a defined waist. Go for dresses with the following characteristics:

Petite

This week in the LITB Lab is also my last week as I am sadly leaving LightInTheBox so I’ve decided to take a quick look back at some of my favorite gadgets. Ranging from great Android Phones and Tablets to iHelicopters, here are my top 5 tech masterpieces:

PMP Portable Games Console

If, like me, you were born in the 80s, then your youth will have featured some of the retro gaming classics of yesteryear: Super Mario Kart, Crash Bandicoot, King Kong, Street Fighter and Tank. The PMP Portable Games Console comes with all of these among its 2500 built-in games. It also has a clear 4.3-inch screen which provides an excellent gaming experience. The responsive controls mirror those of classic gaming devices and the PMP also has a camera, voice-recorder and media player so all your bases are covered for long journeys. At just $49.99 it’s a perfect toy for both nostalgic adults and kids alike.

Sensation 3G Android Smarphone

A serious contender to the iPhone, the Sensation is a sexy smartphone which runs Android 2.3 and includes both front and back cameras and a huge 4-inch capacitive touch screen. Its dual SIM capability allows you to use your regular SIM card plus a GSIM card so you will always have satellite navigation wherever you go. With this phone you can literally never be lost. Plus, the back camera is a whopping 8MP! Not a cheap purchase at $259.99 but well worth the expenditure.

Celluon Magic Cube Laser Projection Keyboard

This is probably the most impressive and futuristic gadget that has come through our office during my tenure. The Celluon Magic Cube plugs quickly into a USB socket, installs itself and then laser-projects a clear keyboard on your desk or work surface. You can then simply type on that surface. It also has a rechargeable battery and a wireless Bluetooth mode making it ideal for travel. My initial concern was the high price which has since dropped by $50 to the much more reasonable price of $199.98. A seriously cool gadget.

Archon 2 Android 4.0 Tablet

The Archon 2 is one of the most up to date Android Tablets available with a powerful processor (1GHz ) and a high operating speed (512MB RAM). It’s 8” capacitive touch screen can detect 5 separate touches simultaneously making it much more responsive than previous Android Tablets and on a par with current Apple devices. Front and back cameras and the HD capabilities of the large touchscreen only serve to sweeten the deal. With the pleasantly low price tag of $149.99, the Archon 2 retains a high place among my favorite products.

iCam Helicopter with Camera

The latest and bestest in the increasingly long line of iHelicopters, the iCam includes a spy camera which can record footage taken from the nose of the helicopter and store in onto a TF card. Easily controlled (including camera on/off) from any touchscreen device (Apple or Android), the iCam feels far the most balanced and fly-able of the series and is a must have for toy lovers, especially if they have nosey neighbor tendencies! Only $49.99!

Fashion Friday: Bright Bottoms

Those red jeans we’ve seen on everyone from Khloe Kardashian to your next-door neighbor for the past year are finally taking a back seat! Well, sort of. To ensure that you not only feel, but look amazing on your big day, you need to keep in mind what body shape you have and choose a dress that flatters your silhouette. Here you’ll see dresses for apple-shaped, hourglass or straight body types that will ensure you look incredible on your big day!

Apple Shaped

If you’re apple-shaped, go for a dress that draws the eye upward toward the bodice or neckline. Be sure to avoid ball gowns or sheath silhouettes! Try these styles:

LITB Labs – Mini Plastic Portable Sealer

This week in the LITB Lab we’re taking a perusal into the world of practicality. The Mini Plastic Portable Sealer is not a show-stopping gadget but it is a gadget which will make a daily difference in the life of anybody who owns one. This handy little device can seal and re-seal plastic bags to prolong the life of perishable foods and can safely seal goods which are susceptible to decay from damp environments.

If you open up a bag of potato chips and can’t finish them, the Mini Plastic Portable Sealer allows you to simply create a new air-tight seal and preserve the freshness and crispness of the chips for many days to come.

You simply remove the safety guard and use the Mini Plastic Portable Sealer as a pincer to slide across the plastic you want to seal. The heated electric contact melts a thin line of the plastic so it seals completely but the seal is not difficult to then break.

The Mini Plastic Portable Sealer is convenient, lightweight (60g), small (11x4x4.5cm) and has a magnetic base for storing it on the refrigerator. It is powered by 2xAA batteries and, best of all, this product costs just $3.89!
