Have you ever noticed that you keep buying the same kind of frames when you get a new pair of sunglasses? This is because each person will have a particular frame that suits them best depending on the shape of their face. So stop resisting and surrender to fashion reality! Here is a simple guide to choosing the best sunglasses for your face.

Oval Faces

You have an oval face? Lucky you! You can rock pretty much any style of sunglasses. Experiment and try different styles to suit the occasion, your outfit or mood. Try some horizontal frames to contrast with the vertical curves of your face, and then move onto some up-swept frames with more emphasis on the cheeks. If you’re not the adventurous type, glasses with soft angles work really well with oval face shapes.

Try: rectangular, butterfly or pilot frames

Square Faces

Facial features that define a square face shape include a broad forehead and square jawline. The obvious frames that will suit a square face have curvier, rounded edges that  soften the angular lines of your face. Use your glasses to your advantage and draw away attention from strong or prominent facial features. This allows for your overall appearance to maintain a balanced look.

Frames for you: oval, cat eye & butterfly frames

Round Faces

Full cheekbones, narrow jaw and forehead sound familiar to you? To get the best look, try some wide and rectangular frames to make your face look longer and thinner. As your face doesn’t have too many angles, neither should your sunglasses.

Best choices: wayfarer, rectangular or shields.

Heart-Shaped Faces

Heart shaped faces are are widest at the top and narrowest at your chin. Keep your facial proportions balanced by wearing glasses that direct attention down the face giving you a more elongated look. Frames that add some width down your face are great, which means bigger frames can be an obvious choice. Just make sure they don’t sit high and wide, adding weight around your temples.

Great choices include cat eye, pilot and round frames.
