Always Prepared: 7 Must Haves For Your Everyday Bag

mar12-deb5

There’s nothing worse than the feeling you get when you are already out the door and on your way to (insert destination here) only to find out that you left something important at home.  Or maybe little things come up where you really need a ______, but don’t have it. If this sounds familiar, read on for the top 7 must-haves for your everyday bag.

Wallet

Get it here.

Get it here.

This seems like a no-brainer, and maybe it is. In any case, make sure you have your ID, some cash, and a reliable card in case of emergencies. A new pair of shoes doesn’t count as an emergency, by the way.

A Tiny First Aid Kit

Um...smaller.

Um…smaller.

No,  I’m not talking rolls of gauze and iodine or anything.  Just carry what you need to hold you over if something does happen. A few Band-Aids, some pain relief (aspirin, ibuprofin, etc.) and any daily medication you take will cut it.

We don’t always have time to brush our teeth after lunch, but chewing gum is easy enough. Don’t like to chew gum? No problem, mints are there for you too.

You know those days where you wake up late and don’t have time to do your makeup? That’s why you should keep a few things in your bag. Remember to only pack the essentials. You don’t need to lug around an entire makeup kit. Mascara and lip gloss will do the trick. Don’t wear makeup? A plain lip balm is always handy.

For hair, a few bobby pins and a hair tie will be just fine. Throw in a small comb or travel brush if you feel you need it.

Personal Hygiene

Always, always, carry personal hygiene items you may need. It’s better to be over-prepared than under. Tissues or wet-wipes, tampons, hand sanitizer – never leave home without them!

Small Notebook and Pensmall-recycled-notebook-extralarge-236373

You never know when you will need to jot down an idea or phone number, and as plentiful as napkins are, they will inevitably end up in the trash.

Electronicsaviiq-charger

Phone, iPod (or other mp3 player), chargers, cables, thumb drives – you will probably need a few of these throughout the day.  Keep them together for easy access!

*Bonus Tip* Keep it all Together

Clockwise from top left: 1, 2, 3, 4.

Clockwise from top left: 1, 2, 3, 4.

Keep each set of stuff together in a zip pouch (makeup bags work very well for this). Things will be easy to find, and you’ll never lose them!

And remember, even if you don’t end up needing most of these things, someone will! Don’t you want to be the girl that’s prepared for everything?

Did we forget something?
